According to a Eurostat article from November 2023, EU residents aged 15 and over made 1.1 billion tourism trips in 2022, with an average duration of 5.1 overnight stays per trip. Over 80.0% of these trips were domestic, averaging 4.0 nights per trip. For international trips, the average stay was longer, at 8.2 nights.
