According to recent data from Toerisme Vlaanderen, the tourism sector in Flanders employed 301.3 thousand people in 2022. This marks a 6.0% increase from 2021 and a 2.0% rise compared to pre-COVID levels in 2019. The top three industries for employment were the food and drink industry (29.0%), the catering industry (21.0%), and passenger transport (18.0%).
