The Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia reported that in 2021, the country welcomed 1.9 million international entries, with 478 thousand of these being overnight stays. This figure represents a significant decrease of 76.8% in total arrivals compared to 2019, attributed to the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19. Despite this decline, the data also shows an increase in the duration of visits, with the average stay extending from 4.3 nights in 2019 to 6.0 nights in 2021. For further insights, the Italian National Institute of Statistics offers a comprehensive and regularly updated statistical database at no cost, which includes detailed metrics on Latvia’s non-resident visitors.
