According to the upgraded EU Tourism Dashboard, in 2022, tourism demand across the EU had nearly fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, reaching an average of 95.6% compared to 2019. Notably, countries like Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, and the Netherlands even surpassed pre-pandemic levels. However, recovery in Eastern European tourism destinations has been slower, possibly due to the war in Ukraine. While most EU countries have achieved a share of recovery at 90% or higher, many are still working toward reaching pre-pandemic levels of tourism demand.
