In April and May 2022, according to statistics, 50.4% of foreign tourists in Slovenia used online reservation systems to arrange their trips, whereas only 9.3% opted for travel agencies, indicating a change from 2019 when direct bookings and travel agencies were more common.

The most recent figures from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia reveal that between April and May 2022, the predominant method for foreign tourists to organize their trips was through an online reservation system, accounting for 50.4% of all arrangements. Conversely, travel agencies were among the least favored options, comprising only 9.3% of arrangements. This marks a shift from the same timeframe in 2019, when direct bookings at accommodations were the primary method for organizing trips, representing 31.2% of all arrangements, followed by travel agencies at 25.4%, indicating a change in tourists’ preferences for arranging travel.
