According to the EU Tourism Dashboard, the highest tourism density in 2022 was observed in Malta, with a value of 26,000 nights spent per square kilometer of land. The next countries with lower values are the Netherlands (3.4 nights spent/km²) and Croatia (1.59 nights spent/km²). Additionally, the most popular region is the Région de Bruxelles-Capitale with a tourism density of 38,400 nights spent/km², while the sub-region is Paris that has an even higher density of 398,000 nights spent/km². These high values may indicate potential crowding and strain on resources, infrastructure, and the environment in the analyzed destinations.
