Greece typically experiences a surge in domestic air arrivals during the summer and early autumn months. In 2023, these months saw the highest number of domestic air arrivals since 2016. July marked a significant peak with 1.2 million arrivals, which is a 10.8% increase compared to July 2018. The consistent rise in domestic air arrivals throughout nearly every month of 2023, as compared to figures since 2016, indicates a robust recovery of the tourism sector from the pandemic’s impact. This trend also highlights the preferred travel periods for domestic tourists. More detailed data is available on the Greek Tourism Analytics Dashboard (GTAD) by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), which is accessible free of charge and can be customized to individual needs.
