The Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO) held the European Museum Conference 2023 in Lahti, Finland, from 19-21 November 2023, focusing on how museums can contribute to climate action and a sustainable future. The conference featured a discussion with three museum professionals and climate activists: Rebekka Eschauzier (Extinction Rebellion Belgium), Emek Yılmaz-Sancar (Museums for Future Türkiye), and Vera Carasso (Dutch Museums Association). Moderated by Eva Koppen (Association of European Jewish Museums), the conversation aimed to explore what museums can learn from climate activists and how these activists can collaborate with museums beyond using them as platforms for their calls to action.
