The Institute for Tourism and Development (Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung e.V.) has announced the launch of the international TO DO Award 2026 for socially responsible tourism. This award aims to recognise projects, initiatives, or products that promote active local participation and fair engagement with all stakeholders in tourism development.

Eligible applicants include tourism enterprises, organisations, public institutions, and other legal entities. The key selection criterion is the meaningful involvement of local residents in both the planning and implementation phases of the initiative.

Following evaluation by a panel of experts, winners will be notified by 15 January 2026 and invited to the award ceremony at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin. Each winner will receive a TO DO 2026 trophy, a certificate, and a prize of 5,000 CHF, sponsored by the Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST).

Applications must be submitted by 31 July 2025 (The original piece available only in German).
