BirdLife International and DOPPS, serving as the Regional Implementation Team (RIT) for the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), have launched a call for proposals inviting organisations to apply for small grants within the Mediterranean Basin Biodiversity Hotspot.

These grants aim to:

  • Foster local partnerships for the conservation of globally significant coastal biodiversity
  • Enhance civil society involvement in protecting threatened plant species and plant communities

Eligible applicants include NGOs, community groups, universities, and private enterprises from 12 countries. Selected projects may receive funding between USD 15,000 and USD 40,000, with a total of USD 600,000 available under this call.

Projects must run for at least 12 months, starting on 1 November 2025 and ending no later than 31 August 2027.

Application deadline: 2 August 2025
