ROELMI HPC adopts an approach directed towards environmental preservation, biodiversity safeguard and the use of renewable sources reflected in the company voluntary program NIP® (Nature Is People). The company focuses its activities in Italy for ingredient development on two cutting-edge production technologies including biotech (biotechnology/fermentation) and nature (ingredients of vegetal origin or from green chemistry). ROELMI HPC developed a range of eco-friendly emollients. ROELMI HPC emollients are coming from:

a) Noble olive oil by-products, not intended for food use. The Olifeel® series results from the requalification of lampante virgin oil and olive pomace. These emollients stand out for their high compatibility with the skin, due to their biomimetic chemical structure.

b) Vegetable oils, when possible extracted from low energy demand or under-utilized crops are the feedstocks for the EMotion® and BeauSens® lines. These raw materials are further transformed into bio-monomers as building blocks of high-added value bioproducts like biolubricants, co¬smetics, bioplastics, additives.

ROELMI HPC’S cosmetic esters are natural-derived (according to ISO 16128) and tested for the biodegradability behavior (OECD test 301B). They can replace standard raw materials like silicones and petrochemical or palm derived oils.

Future studies include the continuous investigation of new supply chains (i.e. Kraft process by-products) to enhance the re-valorization of local sources and to avoid raw materials shortage from selected chains.
Our project is to expand the number of supply chains (several by-products) and to open a biofermentation production unit to speed up the industrial pilot trials. This important growth will result in a major increase in the range of fermented products by the end of 2024.
