Booking.com has unveiled the 10th edition of its annual research report, released on 22 April 2025, which explores global traveller attitudes and intentions regarding the social and environmental impacts of tourism. The study draws insights from 32,000 travellers across 34 countries and highlights a growing global awareness of tourism’s effects on local communities and the environment.

According to the research, over half of travellers (53%) are now mindful of the impact of travel on communities and nature, while 69% aspire to leave destinations better than they found them. Although most travellers believe tourism has a positive influence on their local areas, they also recognise challenges such as traffic congestion, littering, overcrowding, and rising living costs.

Overall, the report underscores a strengthening alignment between travellers’ intentions and sustainable practices, calling for continued innovation and collaboration within the travel industry. To access the full report, please follow the attached link.
