Beneficiaries of the project emphasised the need for EU-level data that goes beyond what National Statistical Institutes provide, specifically data on bookings and financial transactions. The EU Tourism Dashboard, developed by the European Commission, serves as an online tool for promoting and monitoring the green and digital transitions within the tourism ecosystem. It visualises tourism-related data and indicators from trusted sources, enabling the assessment of EU countries' progress toward policy objectives. Unlike Eurostat, the EU Tourism Dashboard is not restricted by statistical regulations, making it an ideal platform to aggregate diverse national and regional data sources. This functionality can enhance monitoring of tourism activities, support informed decision-making, and improve crisis preparedness and recovery efforts at the EU level.
