The European Travel Commission, in collaboration with MMGY TCI Research, issued a report in March 2024 that provides an analysis of the impact of climate change on future tourism in Europe. The report highlights the urgent need for sustainable travel practices and industry adaptation, noting how climate change discussions are influencing the reputation of European destinations. For instance, the report identifies the Mediterranean, particularly Greece, Italy, and Spain, as the most affected regions in terms of climate change polarity in travel for 2023 in Europe, emphasizing the necessity of proactive measures to address climate impacts and ensure quick recovery.
