The article published by Euronews in partnership with the European Commission on October 8, 2024, delves into how hotels in water-scarce regions of Europe are implementing innovative methods to recycle and optimize water usage by tourists. It highlights initiatives from the European project WAT’SAVEREUSE, led by the Pyrenees–Mediterranean Euroregion, such as the 15% water savings per tourist at Les Mimosas campsite and the Can Buch hotel’s use of over half its water from collected rainwater. This article is part of Euronews and the European Commission’s effort to promote the EU’s Water Wise campaign, #WaterWiseEU, which aims to raise awareness about the increasing stress on Europe’s water systems and the need for sustainable water management.
