The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) issued a report in July 2022 detailing policy recommendations and best practices for managing short-term rentals (STR). Developed with Airbnb’s support, the report draws on insights from destinations worldwide - including Estonia, France, USA, Australia, and South Africa - providing practical recommendations for policymakers. It highlights key strategies such as digital registration, data sharing, smart taxation, and long-term community investment, helping jurisdictions develop effective regulations that benefit all stakeholders.
