SiteMinder released the results of an accommodation-specific traveller survey in November 2024, designed to help the hotel and travel industry better understand and respond to shifting customer preferences. The survey gathered responses from over 12,000 travellers across 14 major tourist markets (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, the UK, and the USA), who answered 25 accommodation-related questions. SiteMinder analysed the data based on gender, generation, location (urban, suburban, and rural), travel plans (domestic, international, or both), work plans, travel companions, household income, and preferred accommodation type. The resulting report provides a detailed look at what contemporary travellers desire when it comes to finding, booking, and enjoying their accommodations.
