The article discusses the European Commission’s initiative to boost tourism in the digital era through the call for proposals launched in November 2020. This initiative aims to help tourism SMEs lead the recovery by adopting innovative and technological solutions. Nearly €9 million was allocated to nine projects, including EU DigiTOUR, SMARTER AOE, EURO-EMOTUR, CulTourData, DIGITOUR, RESETTING, TOURBIT, TourINN-act, and Tourism4.0. These projects focus on enhancing digital and data-driven innovations, promoting smarter and greener tourist destinations, and connecting people through the latest technologies.
