The Law on the Regulation of the Establishment and Operation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations of 2019 (Law 34(I)/2019) was enacted by the Republic of Cyprus and published in 2019 through the Cyprus Bar Association’s legal portal. This regulation establishes a comprehensive framework for the licensing, classification, and operation of hotels and tourist accommodations, including provisions for self-catering units and mixed-use developments. It aims to ensure quality, safety, and transparency in the hospitality industry, while also enhancing consumer protection and aligning with international best practices. It introduces clear definitions, operational requirements, and the role of accredited classification bodies (The original piece available only in Greek).
