IFA and Gasol Foundation have established a stable alliance for the promotion of children's health that has several years of experience since it began in 2015.As part of this alliance, the Gasol Foundation advances towards its mission of reducing childhood obesity rates through the promotion of healthy lifestyles among children and their families and IFA in its commitment to healthy eating, child health and the social and economic development.

Commitments by aspirational objectives:

Aspirational objective 1: Healthy, balanced, and sustainable diets for all European consumers, thereby contributing to: 

1) Reversing malnutrition and diet-related noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the EU. 

2) Reducing the environmental footprint of food consumption by 2030.

With the following aspirational targets:

a) Improved food consumption patterns in the EU. 

b) A food environment that makes it easier to choose healthy and sustainable diets.

IFA commitments:

  • Encourage appropriate physical, psychological, and social development during early childhood through promoting healthy habits and skills for life giving importance to food health and the generation of the appropriate food preferences.

  • Generate one network of centers socio promoters of the health and the food healthy, implying to educators and families.

 

Aspirational objective 7: Sustainable sourcing in food supply chains

With the following aspirational targets:

a) Transformed commodity supply chains that do not contribute to deforestation, forest degradation, and destruction of natural habitat and which preserve and protect high-value ecosystems and biodiversity.

b) Improved social performance in (global) food supply chains.

IFA commitments:

  • Set intervention to long-term to contribute to the empowerment of the most vulnerable communities and the reduction of the inequalities in health since the first childhood.
