We are environmentally aware and climate conscious in our actions, committed to ensuring a sustainable future for society, and mindful of our responsibilities towards our employees. Commitments by aspirational objectives:
Aspirational objective 3: A climate-neutral food chain in Europe by 2050
With the following aspirational target:
Reducing net emissions from own operations, contributing to a 55% GHG emission reduction target in the EU food chain by 2030 (following a science-based approach).
REWE commitments:
REWE Group aims to achieve climate neutrality at the company level (scope 1 and 2) until 2040;
As a mid-term goal on the road to neutrality, REWE Group aims to reduce its absolute greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 equivalents), by 30% compared to 2019 until 2030 via measures to reduce and avoid emissions;
These targets apply to all countries where REWE Group is active.
