In October 2017, Hungary’s government introduced its first-ever tourism strategy, outlining a collaborative vision for the sector’s future. The updated version of Hungary’s National Tourism Development Strategy 2030, released in May 2021 and published by the Hungarian Tourist Agency, serves as a foundational framework for a paradigm shift in tourism. This strategy aims to enhance the competitiveness of Hungarian tourism by identifying key intervention points and adopting new sectoral approaches. The document outlines development opportunities in relation to the current state of tourism and hospitality through twelve guidelines and proposes a series of actions related to them. The strategy also focuses on the areas of hospitality, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), health tourism, religious tourism, and sales, which have significant development potential. For a comprehensive overview of the necessary development and sector management tasks until 2030 the strategic document is attached for all interested parties.
