● Tourism is a vital sector in Portugal’s economy, accounting for approximately 9.5% of GDP in 2023. The country recorded 77.2 million overnight stays in 2023, a 10.7% increase year‑on‑year, including 53.8 million stays by foreign tourists and 23.4 million by residents.

           

● Tourism Strategy 2027 is the strategic guideline for tourism in Portugal over the next decade and it was created based on a broad and creative participatory process.

           

● EU funding information for Portugal is available through the national portal Portugal 2030.
