The 23rd episode of the ECOSYSTEX Insights Series brought together researchers and innovation experts to showcase projects supporting the textile sector’s transition towards greater sustainability and digitalisation. During the webinar, participants explored a range of initiatives addressing colour innovation, chemicals traceability, funding opportunities for innovation, and sustainable public procurement. The event formed part of ECOSYSTEX’s ongoing efforts to share knowledge and promote collaboration across Europe’s textile sustainability and circularity ecosystem.

The webinar featured presentations from four projects working on different aspects of the textile transition. Representatives from the Colour4Crafts project presented developments in colour innovation and their implications for the future textile industry. The ELEVATEX project highlighted its open call supporting innovation activities linked to the textile sector’s twin transition. Participants also learned about new public procurement guidelines developed by the CISUTAC project, aimed at helping public authorities integrate sustainability considerations into textile purchasing decisions. The session demonstrated how EU-funded research and innovation projects are delivering practical tools and solutions to support circularity, transparency, and competitiveness across textile value chains.

The webinar highlighted the growing role of collaborative research and innovation in addressing sustainability challenges facing the textile ecosystem. By bringing together project teams, industry stakeholders, and policymakers, the ECOSYSTEX Insights Series continues to provide a platform for sharing results and encouraging the uptake of innovative solutions.

A recording of the webinar has been made available through ECOSYSTEX channels for those unable to attend the live event.
