The European Research Executive Agency has opened a new Horizon Europe call supporting cultural heritage protection and the creative industries, with seven topics and a deadline of 23 September 2026.

Launched on 12 May 2026 under Cluster 2 of Horizon Europe, the HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-HERITAGE call offers €85.5 million across seven topics, including support for creative start-ups and measures to prevent illicit trafficking in cultural goods.
While not exclusively a tourism call, several topics are directly relevant to destinations built around cultural and heritage assets, from historic sites to museums and creative-industry clusters. Applicants have until 23 September 2026 to submit proposals through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal. Given the broad eligibility criteria, tourism stakeholders working on heritage interpretation, digital preservation or creative-tourism products may find several topics within reach.
