The 2025 edition of the EuroVelo Route Development Status Report provides a clear overview of where Europe stands on its path towards a fully developed long-distance cycling network. It highlights major progress in several countries, including Greece, Italy and Poland, where new infrastructure and coordination have brought the vision of EuroVelo closer to reality.
The report is designed for policymakers, regional authorities, coordination centres, and tourism developers who play a role in shaping the future of sustainable mobility. By presenting concrete case studies, it shows how successful strategies can be replicated elsewhere and how cooperation at different levels leads to tangible results.
Building on previous findings that more than two-thirds of the EuroVelo network is already developed and nearly 40 percent features dedicated signage, the 2025 report looks ahead to the next phase of growth. It stresses the need for continued investment, better data and coordinated planning to reach the ambitious 2030 targets.
We recommend reading this report as an essential resource for anyone interested in sustainable transport, active mobility and the development of cycling tourism across Europe.
