The strategic study released by the Walloon Tourism Observatory (L’Observatoire wallon du Tourisme – OwT) in October 2021 outlines a visionary roadmap for tourism development in Wallonia by 2030. Commissioned by Roland Berger with the backing of the Office of the Walloon Minister for Tourism, the Commissariat général au Tourisme (CGT), and Wallonie Belgique Tourisme (WBT), the report offers an in-depth analysis of the region’s tourism landscape. It explores visitor demographics, economic contributions, and territorial dynamics. The study also examines Wallonia’s tourism positioning, identifies key tourist profiles, and sets out strategic priorities and guiding principles for destination management. Its overarching goal is to enhance the region’s appeal while fostering resilience and inclusivity across the tourism sector (The original piece available only in French).
