TomTom, a company specialising in location technology and satellite navigation devices, has published its 14th annual Traffic Index, which ranks the world's most congested cities by travel time, fuel costs, and CO2 emissions. The 2024 ranking, featuring 500 cities across 62 countries on six continents, reveals that London remains the most congested city in Europe, while Barranquilla holds the title of the most congested city in the world. Furthermore, 76% of the cities experienced increased congestion in 2024 compared to the previous year.
