According to Turisver, the former Aqualine waterpark in Altura, Castro Marim, is set to be transformed into three small rural tourism units, harmoniously integrated into the surrounding green park. On 12 May, the Castro Marim City Council announced that each unit will be developed using existing structures, promoting a low-impact tourism model aligned with the region’s low-density development strategy. The municipality opted for this more sustainable and less intrusive approach, rejecting a previously proposed large-scale project (The original piece available only in Portuguese).
