According to Travel Tomorrow, the launch of a new high-speed train service between Lisbon and Madrid has the potential to revolutionise transportation across the Iberian Peninsula by 2030, cutting travel time between the Spanish and Portuguese capitals from over ten hours to just three. This project, approved by the European Commission, offers a viable alternative to air travel and represents a significant investment in the decarbonisation of transport services.
