The TASTE project (Transformative Approaches for Sustainable Food in Tourism) is an initiative funded by the European Commission under the Single Market Programme. Its objective is to promote innovation, sustainability, and resilience at the intersection of food and tourism by providing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and stakeholders with customised training, financial support, and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
Led by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the project brings together seven partners from six countries—Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Latvia, and Slovenia—and will run from 1 November 2024 to 30 April 2027.
Key expected outcomes include:
- The creation of a strong European network of tourism stakeholders
- Improved food management practices among tourism-related SMEs
- Implementation of diverse and innovative business models and experiences
- Strengthened ties with remote and rural areas
Ultimately, TASTE aims to transform the food tourism sector by promoting inclusive, sustainable, and digitally enhanced experiences.
