The updated EU Industrial Strategy emphasizes the urgency of accelerating the green and digital transition across EU industries and their ecosystems. It calls for collaboration among industry, public authorities, social partners, and other stakeholders to design and implement transition pathways for each ecosystem.

Tourism, being the most affected by the COVID-19 crisis, is the first to have its transition pathway. The actions outlined in this pathway are key components of the upcoming European tourism agenda for 2030/2050.

Co-Creation and Co-Implementation

There are several steps involved in the co-creation and co-implementation of the tourism transition pathway. This process includes contributions from public and private stakeholders across various sectors and levels within the tourism ecosystem.

The Commission also invites all EU tourism stakeholders to submit their concrete pledges for action. These pledges will be published, recognizing stakeholders’ contributions and leadership in the transition of EU tourism.

Please visit the dedicated webpage to check how can you get involved and read the Tourist Industrial Ecosystem factsheet to learn how tourism contributes to economic growth, employment, and social development.
