The European Commission’s tourism industry factsheet, published in April 2024, presents essential facts and figures about the EU tourism sector. It highlights challenges faced by the industry, including the need for more sustainable and responsible tourism, digital transformation, and building resilience post-COVID-19.
To address these challenges, the European Commission has collaborated in the development of the transition pathway, an initiative aimed at making the tourism sector greener, more digital, and more resilient, with key aspects detailed in the publication.
