The Brewers of Europe Proud to be Clear

In 2015 The Brewers of Europe committed to voluntarily listing ingredients and calories on labels.

In 2019, we strengthened that commitment through an MoU and a Brewers’ Ambition that all beer bottles and cans label ingredients and energy values by end 2022.

In 2021 The Brewers of Europe signed up to the EU Code of Conduct with a Pledge to continue roll-out.

On 16 April 2026, The Brewers of Europe reported to the European Commission and EU Member States that today 95% of beer is labelling ingredients, whilst 91% is labelling energy values in line with the rules laid down in Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers.
