EIT Food is a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) established by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). It is part of the Innovative Europe pillar of EU Horizon Europe. Its mission is to transform the food system to produce healthy and sustainable food. EIT Food focuses on innovation, education, and entrepreneurship to address global challenges related to food, such as climate change, resource depletion, and malnutrition. EIT Food supports startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers by providing funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

EIT Food has the mission to launch, develop and grow research and innovation in products and services, scaling up new applications and business models to rapidly expand their market impact. EIT Food focuses on solutions that drive meaningful change in food systems and benefit all stakeholders. They do this by harnessing the power of shared knowledge across EIT Food's innovation ecosystem and matching it with a range of targeted programmes, consortium-based funding opportunities and more. EIT Food Entrepreneurship supports innovative, researchers, entrepreneurs, and impactful AgriFoodTech startups, every step of the way - from business propositions, market validation, business acceleration, and technology validation to commercial upscaling. They work at different stages of innovation, including launch, accelerate or scale up - the three hands-on, equity-free programmes help entrepreneurs to become a food system game-changer and succeed.
The agrifood tech entrepreneurship powerhouse connects thousands of startups to more than 200 leading corporations, universities, research centres, and investors, with the full support and resources of the European Union.
The EIT-Food provides among other services project calls for funding.
