The Interreg Europe has recognised the Gastro Local initiative, developed in Romania, which enables tourists to enjoy traditional Romanian meals in local households, promoting authentic culinary experiences while supporting local producers and communities. A key objective is to decentralise tourism from urban centres like Brasov by improving public transport links and encouraging visits to rural areas such as Vama Buzaului. The success of this initiative is reflected in increased rural tourism, enhanced local economic opportunities, and a more balanced regional tourism flow. For a detailed overview of this good practice, including implementation strategies, stakeholder involvement, and potential for transfer, please refer to the attached link on the left-hand side of the platform.
