Labour shortages in construction are reported in most EU Member States, and in 2023 they were nearly three times the level observed ten years earlier. WEC responds by addressing gender imbalances in the sector and adapting vocational education and training to labour market needs. The project brings together partners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania and Montenegro and runs from January 2025 to December 2026, with an EU grant of €345,693. Its activities include research on labour shortages and gender imbalance in construction, an online learning platform, four vocational training curricula tailored to women in the sector, four online courses, a toolkit with practical workshops for educators, animated video guides, and awareness-raising events with training providers and construction companies.
