HUBS4BUILD is a new Horizon Europe project coordinated by the University of Thessaly. It will set up 13 permanent regional hubs in 13 countries that link the bioeconomy with the construction value chain. Working with around 500 local stakeholders, the project will develop and test nine bio-based construction products, such as insulation made from textile waste and panels made from construction and demolition waste. The aim is to valorize around 700 tonnes of local waste and train 200 local professionals. The lead hubs are in Greece, Spain, the Netherlands and Romania. According to CORDIS, the project runs from September 2026 to August 2030, and the EU is contributing about €9.1 million.
