Eurostat reports that in 2023, the number of nights spent in EU tourist accommodations reached 2.9 billion, marking a 6.1% increase from 2022. This figure also represents a 1.4% rise compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Malta and Cyprus saw the most significant growth, with a 20% increase in nights spent compared to 2022, followed by Slovakia with a 16% increase. Luxembourg, however, experienced a slight decline of 1%. These statistics underscore the recovery and growth of the EU tourism sector beyond pre-pandemic levels.
