According to Eurostat, the EU tourism sector saw a significant recovery in 2023, with approximately 2.92 billion nights spent in tourist accommodation. This figure surpasses pre-pandemic levels by 1.6%, marking a record year for the industry. The sector experienced a 6.3% increase from 2022, largely due to a rise in international visitors. International tourists contributed to 46% of all nights spent, approaching pre-pandemic levels. This overall performance indicates a strong rebound and growing confidence among travellers across the EU.
