The Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA), New York University (NYU), and RateGain have released the second edition of their State of Distribution report. This comprehensive study is designed to help hoteliers benchmark industry trends across various roles, hotel sizes, and property types.
Drawing on data from over 21,000 properties worldwide—collected between December 2024 and March 2025—the report explores key areas such as:
- Guest booking behaviours and channels
- Hotel technology adoption
- Decision-making processes around tech investments
- Current challenges faced by commercial teams
- Opportunities to automate hotel operations
- Evolving team structures and talent strategies
- Attitudes towards data residency and compliance
- Hotel reporting practices
Key findings include:
- Data residency is now a top priority, second only to ROI when selecting technology solutions
- There is growing demand for talent in direct channel marketing
- Hotels are prioritising tech consolidation over AI investments
- AI tools rank lowest in investment priority across all hotel segments
The full report is available free of charge to anyone interested, upon registration.
