Optimise at national, regional and local levels (leveraging vertical coordination mechanisms) the reach of existing public communication mechanisms for crisis communication and information (also considering a reverse emergency number system for urgent communications), or develop new ones, to effectively inform tourism businesses, tourists and residents on the measures in force in the event of a crisis.

Clear communication channels and access to accurate information are essential for the tourism ecosystem to respond effectively to crises. Transparent communication ensures that all stakeholders—tourism businesses, tourists, and residents—receive vital updates, safety protocols, and travel advisories, allowing informed decision-making. However, many destinations lack comprehensive communication platforms for crisis information, or existing platforms do not adequately cover all stakeholders or necessary topics. To enhance crisis response, it is crucial to optimise current communication channels or develop new ones to inform all relevant parties during crisis events effectively.
