The picture shows a quiet, tree-lined residential walkway between apartment buildings, with bicycles and a scooter parked among abundant greenery.

The Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Partnership has opened its fifth call for proposals. The call supports transnational research and innovation projects that help cities move towards a climate-neutral and resilient future. The DUT Partnership is co-funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe.

Projects should contribute to one or more of three thematic areas: Positive Energy Districts, Circular Urban Economies and the 15-minute City. The call is open to research organisations, companies, urban government authorities, consumers, civil society representatives and actors from the cultural and creative sectors. Each project needs at least three partners from three participating countries, including a municipality or local authority.

The call funds for 3-year projects. There are no fixed minimum or maximum limits, but most projects are expected to request around €1–2 million. The deadline for pre-proposals is 17 November 2026, 13:00 CET.
