A Destination’s Guide to the New EU Sustainability Regulations, published in May 2025 by the European Travel Commission (ETC), in collaboration with the Global Destination Sustainability Movement, helps tourism destinations understand and prepare for key EU directives — CSRD, ECGTD, and GCD — which demand greater transparency and accountability in sustainability practices. It outlines how Destination Management Organisations and tourism stakeholders can align with these regulations to reduce environmental impact, avoid legal risks, and unlock new opportunities. The document also highlights the importance of early compliance in building trust, securing funding, and enhancing destination reputation.
