The EU AgRI 2040 Conference will gather policymakers, researchers, farmers, businesses, innovators, advisers, and civil society representatives in Brussels to discuss how research and innovation can help future-proof the EU agri-food sector. The two-day event will focus on the upcoming strategic approach to research and innovation for competitive, resilient, and sustainable agriculture, forestry, rural areas, and food systems.
Held on 24 and 25 September 2026, the conference is designed as a platform for exchange and co-creation, offering participants the opportunity to contribute to the priorities of the next Horizon Europe framework and the future European Competitiveness Fund. Discussions will cover the role of innovation in strengthening resilience, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness across the agri-food sector.
By bringing together key actors from across the value chain, the conference aims to support a more coordinated and forward-looking vision for EU agriculture and food. It represents an important step in shaping future policy and investment priorities in research and innovation.
